Integrating Slack allows AptEdge to index conversations, providing your team with searchable, AI-powered insights from your internal discussions.
Phase 1: Authorize AptEdge
Access Settings: Log into AptEdge as an Administrator.
Navigate to Integrations: Click the Gear Icon in the top-right header and select Integrations.
Initiate Connection: Find Slack Settings and click the Connect button.
Authorize Workspace: * Review the permission request.
Note: If you have multiple Slack workspaces, ensure the correct one is selected in the top-right corner.
Click Allow/Authorize.
Phase 2: Prepare Your Channel List
Before starting the integration in AptEdge, identify which Slack channels you want to index.
Select Channels: Open Slack and navigate to the channel you wish to index.
Retrieve Channel IDs:
Click the Channel Name at the very top of the chat window.
In the pop-up, select the About tab.
Scroll to the very bottom to find the Channel ID (e.g.,
C0123456789).
Create a List: Copy and save these IDs in a notepad for Phase 3.
Phase 3: Indexing Your Channels
Now that the workspace is connected, you need to tell AptEdge exactly which channels to "listen" to.
Add Channels: In the AptEdge Slack settings screen, select Add.
Input IDs: Paste the Channel IDs you gathered in Phase 1 into the field.
Finalize: Select Connect.
Important: Private Channel Setup
AptEdge cannot "see" private channels unless it is explicitly invited. If you are indexing a Private Channel, follow these additional steps before clicking "Connect" in Phase 3:
Open the Private Channel in Slack.
Invite the App:
Click the Channel Name > Integrations tab.
Select Add an App.
Search for “AptEdge” and click Add.
Sync: Return to AptEdge and proceed with the "Connect" step.
